MENTAWAI ISLANDS SURF CHARTER BOAT
The Gypsy Laut is a 65ft Sloop powered by both a Mitsubishi 6D 16/190hp diesel engine and sail, it’s a live aboard vessel sleeping up to 8 guests including all meals & drinks provided. The sleeping cabins are bunk beds including 2 double bunks while the cabin and lounge area is fully air conditioned for your comfort. The shower and toilet area are roomy with hot/cold water available. The deck is spacious with lounge seating which has storage underneath for surfboards & equipment while the new deck above the wheelhouse is a great place to relax and take in the views.
There are charging facilities available in each bunk along with your own tv’s with access available when in range. There are 2 tender dinghies one is a 5.5m Aluminium dinghy with a 90hp motor while the other is a 3.2m Aluminium dinghy with a 15hp motor. These can be used to get to and from the various surf breaks, fishing or exploring the surrounding islands. There are fishing rods & reels, spearguns & snorkeling gear onboard for the guests to use in between surfing. The boat has all the safety equipment required including Life raft, EPIRB, Life jackets, Flares, Sat phone, Medical Kit, Fire extinguishers and a Fire blanket. The boat was flagged to comply with Indonesian National Law in 2014.
The Captain and Surf guide of the Gypsy Laut is Chris Love who has over 20 years experience and is a Master V Captain with extensive knowledge of Indonesian waters along with most if not all of the surf breaks in the Mentawai Islands. The crew comprises another Indonesian Captain, Chef, Engineer and a deckhand who have all been working on this boat for extended periods of time and will ensure your trip with us is an enjoyable experience you will never forget.
