The coming comprehensive nuclear agreement between Iran and world powers is not just a legal agreement. It will be the end of, perhaps, the first postmodern war, ever waged against a nation.

Inspired by Charles Sanders Peirce, the American philosopher, I define modern warfare as targeting ‘things’, wheras postmodern warfare seeks to target ‘relations’, be it economic, social, political, and cultural.

This was what happened in Iran, and it was much more effective than a conventional modern war in many ways. Yet, it didn’t force Iran into submission.
