You come off as smug and sanctimonious. We understand the legal system just fine. A skilled attorney can defend an accused rapist without demonizing and slut-shaming a 12-year old victim. No high-minded, lofty appeals to the constitution and the legal system can ever make it right to put a child who is a victim of the worst sort of crime through hell all over again.
