Hacksaw Academy Public Beta is Now Live

It has been a long time coming.

Longs nights.

Gallons of coffee.

It is all worth it to have our first 600 students giving us amazing feedback. We’ve been testing over the past month with our Imgur, Reddit, and ProductHunt early adopters.

Needless to say, they are very happy with Hacksaw version 1.0.

Sitting next to larger brands in the space like Codecademy, Code School, and Treehouse, everyone has said the Hacksaw sprint approach is “stickier,” and more effective.

With the project’s curriculum being created by an Oxford CS graduate (Hacksaw’s co-founder James) others have compared it to a firehose of information.

With learning a new skill being immersed is how you retain the most information. All the new in-person coding bootcamp’s “become a software engineer in 18 weeks” model is built entirely around this.

An important piece to our mission that we try to get across to everyone now using Hacksaw Beta is that our goal is to promote widespread learning. Our first course is (and always will be) 100% free for everyone. In order for our students to succeed and feel a sense of accomplishment they first have to have a basic understanding.

Our team wants to personally thank everyone for their kind messages over the course of our development. We are just getting started and we’re excited to send everyone their next course in a month.

Thanks again and enjoy Hacksaw,
Team Hacksaw

P.s. Be sure to check out the window re-sizing as you go through your projects ;)
