Free Parking to go carless in Brussels

At the gates of Brussels, you will find 7 parking called ‘Transit Parking’. Parking Reyers, Ceria, Stalle, Herrmann-Debroux, Delta, Roodebeek et Crainhem.

These transit parkings are meant to discourage drivers entering the center of Brussels by car. All of them are free and without time limitation except for Parking Ceria.

Take the metro, bus or tram to easily access the center of Brussels.

All of the parking have a locker for a maximum of 20 bikes.Only Parking Roodebeek doesn’t have one.

Park for free at the Cinquantenaire

A great tip to know in Brussels as there aren't many streets where you can park for free and with no time limit.

Parking at the ‘Arc du Cinquantenaire’ is one of them. It is just minutes away from Merode and Schuman Metro stations.

Take some time to walk in the park for a few minutes!

In the European district you can park close to Brussels Schuman Station, around Square Marie-Louise and Square Ambiorix.

Many Blue Zone streets exist in the area. In those blue zones, you can park for free for a max of 2h every day except on Sundays, with a parking disc from 9 a.m — 18 p.m.

Go to Rue Belliard if you need to park a bit longer. You can park for free without time limit.

You can take the Metro at Schuman or Maelbeek.

Near Brussels Luxembourg station, you can park at Avenue du Maelbeek, between Rue du Cornet et Rue Gray. This is a very good trip as parking there is free and with no time limitation.

Only 9 minutes away by foot from the Station, this is a good spot to leave your car if you need to be in the center.

You can either take the train to another station, walk until Maelbeek to take Metro line 1 or line 5 or take one of the many busses.

Park nearby Brussels North Station

Near the Brussels North Station, you can find a Blue Zone parking spot in Chaussée d’Anvers.

The street is a Blue Zone between Boulevard Simon Bolivar and Avenue de la Reine.*

Depending on where you are going to park, the street is situated 7 to 15 min walking distance from the station.

If you want to be the closest to the station, try parking the closest to Boulevard Simon Bolivar.

Park in the heart of Brussels

Here are a couple of tips that will definitely help you when you plan on parking around the Sablon or Brussels Central station.

Rue des Tanneurs is a green zone*. It’s situated at a 15 min walk from Central Station and 14 min from the “Sablon”.

You could also go for Rue de la Samaritaine, which is also a green zone however a little bit further away (9 minutes walk to Central Station and 6 minutes to the Sablon).

Rue Neuve

Near Rue Neuve, there are a couple of Blue Zone streets in which you could park for a couple of hours without paying.

The streets are Rue de l’Harmonie, Rue de l’Angle, Rue de l’Héliport, Rue Nicolay and Rue du Faubourg.

Avenue Louise

Even if you are a resident of Brussels, you might learn something here.

Several perpendicular streets to Avenue Louise are Blue Zones*. This means you can park by using your parking disc all days except from Sunday. Note however that this generally holds for the first part of the street.

Here’s the list of the streets:

  • Rue Châtelain
  • Tenbosch
  • Rue Paul Emile Janson
  • Rue du Beau Site
  • Rue Mercelis
  • Rue Souveraine
  • Rue Defacqz
  • Rue Dautzenberg

On the image, you can also see that some parallel streets Avenue Louise are dotted. Some parts of the street are Blue Zones some of the are Orange Zones.

The Orange Zone is a paid parking area. The first 15 min. After that parking your car there will cost you €0,5 for 30 min, €1,5 for 1h, €4 for 2h and €7 for 3h.
