The Interested Challenge!

Every day is another challenge with a life lesson if you want to learn from it. But most of us do not act like learners, even we did not observe what is actually going around us, what are the needs of society. We just care about ourselves, we want to act like interesting personality so that society can see us, we post pictures, brag about what we have eaten, where we are “Check in” on social media. Did you find it ridiculous? Ever you think about it? Looks like selfish?

Love the one who loves you. Respect the one who deserves it. Value those who take care of you. And forget those who don’t deserve you.

Most of us consider the above statement true, do you? Ok! So the game starts here, being interested is much more than being interesting. We don’t want to be with someone who just think about himself and pretend himself as an amazing personality, like he is the one who is acting on the stage and clapping for himself as an audience. No play is successful until the actor have intentions to please his audience and if he is successful in pleasing audience then audience will surely praise him through clapping. Same the case with us, our intentions should be in the favor of others. It’s listening to them about their strengths, weakness, daily routine, passion, goals. It’s a two way process of give and take where you have to bat first, to maintain a level of trust by listening to other people, helping and encouraging them.

Now read that quotation again from the perspective of second person? Hope you got it, be the one to bring change and in return you will get the same as what you were demanding for. That statement is meaningless if you are selfish but if you are selfless then it will surely best fits on you.

You just have to follow simple rules.

· Become genuinely interested in other people and gave them smile.

· Remember that a person’s name and make them feel important.

· Be a good listener and talk in terms of their interest.

The interested challenge totally changed my way of thinking that how to make friends, I adapted the idea as told by Sir Dale Carnegie. I found that during conversation people starts trusting you, they starts sharing their personal issues, their goals, their past and it’s a human nature that he wants sympathy to get motivated. They got emotionally attached to you time by time and starts caring for you too.

“The craving to be vital is the most profound inclination in human instinct. The life of numerous a man could presumably be changed if just somebody would make him feel imperative. Thusly dependably make the others individual feel imperative”

The special cases related to this topic are discussed in the book “How to Win Friends & Influence People” by Dale Carnegie, which is comprised of different stories based on give and take of respect and being interested in someone. One of the case really inspired me which was about a magazine editor, He said “ he could pick up any one of the dozens of stories that drifted across his desk every day and after reading a few paragraphs he could feel whether or not the author liked people. “If the author doesn’t like people, “he said, “People won’t like his or her stories.” This shows that your interest matters, whether you are talking, listening or even writing.

Through this challenge i learned so many things , it is not the duration of relationship that is important, it is the depth that is important by being interested in other people. This was an amazing experience to learn that the little things which we never realized in our daily life routine can bring a great change in society, with these little amount of attention encourage others. I recommend all of you to read this book and apply it in our life. We should listen to other people more often as every person has something to teach you. I feel grateful to be a part of this challenge.
