Last weekend we took a little stay-cation down in San Diego at The Blue Sea Beach Hotel. Can I just start by saying that stay-cations are saving our lives right now? Both of our boys aren’t that great of travelers (MEGA whiners) so we love finding places that are a quick and easy drive to get away to. Brix and Finn did a little bit better this time, so we are crossing our fingers that come summer we can travel more with them!
The Blue Sea Beach Hotel is literally right on the beach! We love the beach, I grew up on it, my husband moved from out-of-state to be on it, and our boys are their happiest on it! We were able to even hear the waves crash from our room-such a peaceful and incredible sound!
The Blue Sea Beach Hotel just had its pool redone, and we spend a great deal of time, swimming, jumping, splashing, relaxing, and taking in the views from the pool.
One of my biggest concerns while traveling (especially now with kids) is the actual hotel room itself. I always want to feel as comfortable as possible, relaxed as can be, and never ever cramped! We got an awesome Ocean View Poolside Cabana Suite that worked perfectly for our family! The boys loved having a “backyard” with our hotel room, and I loved having a separate sleeping space from the kids :)
It was such a treat to be able to spend the days playing in the sand and chasing the waves! My kids are the best selves and best behaved at the beach! I swear its a magical place for them. They are able to be as loud as they want, run free, get messy, get wet, and just be carefree! In the evenings we walked the boardwalk to grab food and ice cream, and then capped the day off with a swim in the pool!
I can’t say enough great things about our stay! We made some incredible memories and had a blast! Every staff member at the Blue Sea Beach Hotel was so friendly and it was their top priority that our stay was fun and effortless! We are already planning our next stay, and can’t wait to add more activities to our agenda, like renting Sea-Doo’s, visiting Balboa Park, and having date night at the Gaslamp District!
