The #1 most asked question I get always has to do with my cool blonde hair.
“Who does your hair?”
“When you get your hair done, what do you ask for?”
“What does your hairstylist do to get you this shade of blonde?”
Today is the day that I am going to answer all of your blonde hair color related questions! Sorry to all of the people who have been asking me forever and I have taken this long.
MY JOURNEY TO GET THE PERFECT COOL BLONDE HAIR
My journey to the perfect cool blonde hair was a long tiring, and very scary one! I am sure every blonde girl reading this right now is like “YES I totally get it”. Finding that perfect hair stylist queen can be quite the search, and believe me I have had terrible yellow/orange blonde box dye jobs in my quest to find her. (I still have nightmares about it.)
My fellow blogger babe Christine is not only super cute with a perf feed, but is also the one and only person I will ever trust to touch my hairs for the rest of my life. Her work is flawless, (see for your self on her hair insta @moxiedoeshair) she transformed my hair into the blonde I always wanted! When I first saw her my head was a MESS. For reals. I bounced around to so many salons trying to find that unicorn stylist, that my hair was a fried gross disaster.
Here is the before picture the first time Christine did my hair, as well as the pretty cool blonde hair she transformed me into #HAPPYTEARS
My goal with my hair is to achieve the natural cool blonde look. I don’t want roots to show up really quick, so I like having the color appear more grown out. That way I am able to go up to 6 months without a color touch up! If you are located in Orange County, or southern California (or even visiting) I 100% suggest reaching out and making an appointment with Christine!
For you ladies who live far away, I asked Christine what exactly she does to my hair so that you can bring this info to your salon to get the same cool blonde hair look!
“Jocelyn has naturally super light, ashy blonde hair so it lightens really well! The first time she came to me she had some yellow tones in her hair so I did a full back to back highlight pulled through to the ends with Olaplex. The ends that were left out I balayaged to make sure we got all of her hair light and bright! Now when she comes, I just touch up her regrowth with highlights. (As time goes if she eventually needs a full refresh, I will do the same initial process I did when she first came!) I also do a shadow root at the shampoo bowl with Redken Shades Cream 8N mixed with Shades Developer, leaving out the very front pieces so she gets that pop around her face. I tone her whole hair with Goldwell Colorance 10P and 10V that gives it the perfect pearly, ashy blonde tone! She helps keep her color fresh at home in between visits by using purple shampoo when she washes and able to go 3–6 months between her appointments!” — straight from the mouth of the BEST
