Adobe seems to follow an approach I’d call Disrespectful Design, and I noticed this while watching a video with my family last night, when Creative Cloud’s update window popped up.

Why does Adobe think interrupting me while I’m doing something that has nothing to do with Creative Cloud is reasonable? Why does it assume keeping its applications up-to-date is more important than what I’m doing?

Even Adobe’s updater jumps up and down in the dock to let me know that no updates were found. Reminds me of Homer Simpson’s “Everything Is OK” alarm, and it’s equally annoying.
