Even after numerous studies which have demonstrated the crucial role that tires play for road safety. Used or under-inflated tires cause more than 153,000 accidents in Europe and are directly responsible for 6% of fatal road accidents.

WORN TIRES? HERE’S WHAT’S DANGEROUS
On all motor vehicles, whether they have two, three or four wheels, the tire is the only physical link between you and the road. This single point of contact represents the size of only 4 postcards. By knowing this we can understand why their good condition is essential.

You surely know that the wear of your tires increases your braking distances, and this is multiplied by rainy weather (Aquaplaning, skidding). If they are worn, their sculpture no longer allows to evacuate the water and hang on the road. The risk of accident is therefore present. Do not neglect your security, watch them.

TIRE UNDER INFLATED? WHAT CAN HAPPEN
Have you just bought one or more new tires? That’s fine, you care about their condition however even completely new tires deflate naturally quickly. Your tires can lose up to 0.1 bars per month! The slightest impact on a sidewalk or a foreign body driven in like a nail can also be the cause of a premature loss of pressure, be careful.

Be aware that by checking their pressure regularly and keeping a pressure (recommended by the manufacturer) you can consume up to 10% less fuel over the entire tank.

In conclusion, you control the pressure of your tires to guarantee their condition and safety and you save.

OVER-INFLATED TIRE? IS IT DANGEROUS?
You would think that driving regularly above the pressure authorized by the manufacturer is dangerous, prematurely wearing the tire and possibly causing a burst. These are misconceptions that turn out to be false. Your tire can withstand up to 10 bars of pressure before bursting.
Driving at a pressure of a few tenths of a bar does not represent any danger, and it is even advisable to drive over-inflated if you should, for example, overload your vehicle before a journey.

On the other hand, an excess of pressure can indeed accelerate the wear process because you have less grip on the road and you lose driving comfort.

COMPLETE TIRE CHECK

Do it with care and precision, because a tire in poor condition can cost you and those of your loved ones.

Remember to make sure that the tread has not reached the wear indicator and that the sides have no cuts or deformations.

The fact that you are going on vacation, may be an opportunity to swap your front and rear tires in order to wear them evenly.

The tires should offer good handling and best brand choice for better stability of your car. Get to know more about this at milestar tires review, check it out!

TIRE PRESSURE
Check the pressure of the 5 tires (We don’t forget the spare tire). To do this, take into account the total load supported by the vehicle and the climatic conditions.

In general, the tire pressure on a long highway journey should be 0.2 to 0.3 bars higher than the pressure for an urban route. On motorways you drive at high speed, added to that, the load supported. It is therefore best to opt for enduring and robust tires.

PITCHING
In order to anticipate possible punctures, take a jack, wheel keys and a puncture bomb. If this problem occurs, it is recommended not to stop dead. Slowly slow down by turning on your hazard lights and park in a service area or at the nearest emergency stop lane.

Then put on your safety vest and place the warning triangle. Make sure to free all the passengers from the vehicle and put them in a safe place until the complete repair, the mounting of the spare tire or until the arrival of the tow truck.
