I’m not experienced in hiring remote workers, but working with a lot of them and being one myself, I can say that the person being comfortable and interested in working remotely is the most important thing.

When I tell people that I work remotely, I get a lot of people who say Oh I wish I could get remotely! and on the other side, I also get a lot of Oh, I could never do that. I need an office. So it really depends on the person, if they’re not willing then remote work might not be a good fit.
