I Am Still Here

If these words are being read Then you probably think that I am dead,

And on this day I know you’re sad but it really is not that bad,

If you are here then me you have known, As a friend with memories of your own,

Or as a parent who had deepest joy In their child girl or boy,

If you are here shedding tears of woe, then please stop, for in these words I will try to show,

That smiles are what I wish to see, from those of you that have known or loved me.

If you can sit and see me now, then I am still here, and will tell you how.

Your visions of me will always thrive, and will keep part of me alive.

If you hold you memories dear I will always be there, have no fear.

Immortality is sought by most, yet why seek something when you are the host.

If you can comprehend that thought,then I will have done my job and taught,

That you are the world and I your guest there when you need me and then at rest.

If you believe in what I say, then I will be here yesterday, tomorrow and today.

I have gone nowhere, I am still here, and I will love you forever, and hold you dear.

If you have faith in me,then you will surely see,

My words are of a future bright,

So celebrate with me in life’s delight:

I published this because I want people to celebrate life not get lost in despair and the sadness of death.

If just one person gets solace from my words then I will have achieved my life long goal.

I am still here.
