Unique because some don’t understand; living because why not?

Writing for an unknown audience is kind of, nerve wracking. But at the same time, there is a shield (the computer screen) that protects anonymous/famous writers/bloggers from people who disapprove of their views. What I’ve come to realize, other than the fact that you realize something new everyday, is that we are not protected from life. The word protection has many difference connotations. However, it is personal as to which kind of protection pops into one’s mind the second they hear the word. Examples include: vaccinations, birth control, weaponry, insurance, sunscreen. Whatever the preference is of one’s connotation towards the word, protection is a lining/screen (literally or figuratively) that shields us from reality. So my question is, what protects us from life? Nothing.

In my bio above, I asked (or stated, depending on your grammar) “living, because why not?” We have nothing to lose but so much to regret. There is beauty in regret. Because the moment you are doing something you know you will regret later on, is the moment—a moment—you are living full life. Living=feeling. Think back on the days of your life before this day. Which days stand out for you? I don’t want to have to answer this for you but obviously they are the days you have discovered something, conquered a fear, felt success, had your heart broken, etc. All of these actions require feelings of aliveness. To live is to be hurt and happy and nervous and excited and anxious and relaxed. Live today. And live everyday even if it scares you.

Whoever is reading this is probably wondering “who is this girl?”. I’m glad (I hope) you’re wondering because at this point, I’m pleased to assume you have read everything up to this point. But to answer yet another question for you (this one not being rhetorical), I am simply Morgan. A girl who craves happiness but makes mistakes along the way. A girl who never fit in and was always content with 3 lifelong friends. A girl who fell in love but didn’t understand why guys returned the gesture. A girl who owned 20 pairs of converse in the 8th grade. A girl who molded herself to fit into high school. A girl who found her strengths and weeded out the people who criticized them. A girl who is headstrong and independent. A girl who perseveres and is determined. A girl who reaches for her goals, but thinks “why not reach for the stars too?” A girl who gets jealous. A girl who hears rumors about herself. A girl who has gotten hurt. A girl who (in spite of being hurt) is a heartbreaker. A girl who listes to Alternative. A girl who listens to Rap. A girl who dances. A girl who dances through bad situations. A girl who gets really drunk. A girl who says she has no worries but always does. A girl who is trying to figure out how to live. A girl who does not want to be under her mom’s influence (all the time). A girl who attends Pennsylvania State University. A girl who was blind by life until 15 years old. A girl who struggles in school. A girl who is interested in politics. A girl who watches what she eats. A girl who listens to others when they don’t listen to her. A quiet girl. A girl who is quirky. A girl who hopes everyday she does not lose herself through the chaos of social acceptance. A girl with a loving family. A girl who has a fear of being ordinary. A girl who is surrounded by good people. A girl who has always learned lessons the hard way. A girl who decided to start a blog and is not quite sure what she should write it on. A girl. Morgan. Get to know her.
