I think a large part of the confusion is saying that the program “invented its own language” ordevised its own interlingua”. Its a bit like saying a child invents a mental map between the world and its native language as it learns to speak. That implies we are talking about a very intelligent child sitting down and doing something very clever and deliberate when the reality is somewhat more mundane (though thats a matter of perspective i suppose).
