Yes, HTTP status codes are extensible, you can return your own custom status code.
The custom response code must fall into the standard categories of status codes, indicated by the first digit. Follow my post, if you want to know more about the categories.

But I would not recommend you to use unregistered codes, as almost all the possible status codes have already been defined and moreover, we should always follow the standard guidelines to maintain consistency across the application and the team.
