Halflings — Introduction 👣⛺️
Who are we? We are the Halflings, a small, silent, but heroic breed. Although we are little, we are capable of achieving BIG things.
The journey thus far
We started our journey on the 2nd of June with some storytelling about our little Halflings. We build up this story until we launched our collection on the 24th of June.
We launched our collection in relatively bad market circumstances. Collectors could mint 1 for free and pay 0.018 for 2 more.
Although we sold quite a few from start, it started to slow down.
After some discussion and hard thinking we made the choice to switch to a free mint. This was in our opinion the best decision we could have made at the time as all Halflings were then minted within half an hour.
Adventures
Lucky enough we raised some funds (mostly from volume on OpenSea) and started building and pouring back funds into the project right away.
We build our so-called adventures.
Adventures is basically a short-term staking mechanism. While staking you unlock a daily story, which ultimately results in the full story of your adventure. Once the adventure is over, you bring home a reward that was gathered on that specific adventure. This reward is then free-to-claim afterwards.
Holders had to pick 1 of the 3 adventures (see image below).
Adventurous Beasts
The reward from participating in 1 of these adventures were all part of our new collection called: Adventurous Beasts.
These Beasts made their first appearance on July 22nd.
Adventurous Beasts were divided in 3 different categories (based on the adventures above):
- Emphatic
- Mechanical
- Mythical
Within these categories you find another 3 different Beasts:
Mouse, Ape and Bee (Empathic)
Scorpion, Bear and Owl (Mechanical)
Unicorn, Lion and Lizard (Mythical)
Halflington Council
One of the bigger events that happened was the creation of our Halflington Council. From certain holders we received unconditional support. These holders started to think along and being creative themselves, even on the darkest days. With these members we created the Halflington Council. We are now communicating on a daily basis and trying to come up with more cool ideas for the Halflings.
Storytelling
With the Halflings we feel like we are one of the first NFT collections that integrated storytelling into the core of our project.
Early on we noticed that a lot of holders started creating their own Halfling stories. So our next step was pretty logical.
We introduced ‘name and description change’. Holders are now able to create their own names and stories, which will be visible on secondary markets.
Our main goal now is to be able to hand our community the tools to create their own Halfling stories and more..
