You, dear writer, have moved me deeply this morning and I created an account so I could thank you for stretching the lens through which I see the world. I am a cis woman and, while I’ve never torn someone down based on the gender and orientation I guess about them, I’ve been silent when others have done so. For that, I am sorry. I can do better and I will do better. We’re often so caught up in making sure “oppressors” (defined by their assumed demographic) are kicked down for us to feel safe or worthy. How tragic that we wear the cloak of defensiveness over the empathic skin (I heartily believe) we were born with. You go do you, however that is and however it looks and sounds as you walk through the world. Again, thank you for sharing your experiences, your strength, and the path on your horizon.
