The holiday season, for me, does a great job of reminding me that I’m divorced and that my ex-wife wants nothing to do with me. It does a great job of reminding me that I was too busy professionally helping those less fortunate than me and that’s a big reason why my fiance left and took the kid and won’t ever let me see him again. It does a great job of reminding me that my dog died near Christmas one year and that before and after I spent years fighting off the urge to kill myself because I just couldn’t stand the psychological pain and nobody seemed to care.

I always think of these types of events that I have experienced during the holidays… I loathe this time of year. It’s the “what’s the point of all this again?” season. Thank you for this post. It is appreciated.
