Step 2 — Place one teaspoon of loose Assam tea leaves per cup of water in the heated teapot. If you want to enjoy the strong taste, add more tea leaves per cup.

Step 4 — Pour the boiling water over tea leaves. Allow the tea leaves to steep for three to five minutes. If you wish to have a mild taste, reduce the brewing time. If brewing time is long, tea will taste bitter.

Step 5 — Serve the tea in white teacups. Ensure that the color of the tea is bright and coppery. When you smell the freshly brewed Assam tea, the aroma should be like pungent autumn spices and fruits. When you take a sip, the tea will produce the taste of malty, astringent and vigorous flavor. A summer harvest tea tastes fruitier, while the spring harvest tea is more flowery and sweeter.

Step 6 — You can add honey or sugar to make the tea sweet. You can also add a bit of milk to produce taste as per your requirement. You need to add milk in such a way that the hotness of the tea is not affected much. If you want to prepare chai, you can use quality Assam tea as a base and add spices and milk to taste.
