Turing Test: Is It a Joke?

Alan Turing, one of the fathers of the computer age, was the first to address the problem of machine intelligence in a methodological way. Turing asked the question: “Can machines think?” but instead of defining what is “think” and what is “machine”, he replaced the question with a game. An imitation game which has come to be known as Turing Test [1].

In Turing Test we have three players:

  1. A computer program ; 2. A human ; 3. A judge.
