When your clothes are visible to you, it will not only aid your decision making process on what to wear, but it will also help to keep your clothes in pristine condition. Almost everyone is aware of the value of real estate. A wardrobe space is just as valuable as the same. If the space is premium, you have to make sure you utilize every square inch of it. Every day we pass by hundreds of people on the street without uttering a single word. But despite the lack of verbal communication, people create an idea in their minds as to what kind or a person the other could be just by analyzing the attire. Therefore, you MUST keep in mind that first impressions matter and how you carry yourself is important for the vibe you send out. But your attire plays a more important role when it comes to this. Therefore it is crucial that you maintain a neat wardrobe in order to put together the perfect outfit at ease.

Filter the clutter

First thing’s first, Get rid of everything that doesn’t need to be there. Remove everything from your wardrobe and put it aside for a white. Take a minute and count the number of coat hangers you own. Click a picture of the wardrobe for reference to see the improvement made on your wardrobe after the overhaul. store the clothes back in as you please and whenever you wear something always collect it in a separate pile in order for you to get an idea of what clothes you wear the most. Continue this for one month and you would notice that about 60 percent of the articles of your entire wardrobe are unused.
At the end of the month take all that is left unused and the ones used and separate them into FOUR groups.

Seasonal : You may wear it but it is the wrong time of the year.
Sentimental : You may not wear it again but has a sentimental value to it so you would not want to get rid of it.
Potential : You will wear it ONLY if its supposed to be worn.
Scrap : You will never wear it.

Once you have separated them to the sections mentioned above, you can arrange them according to colour and prioritize them ( Left being most important and formal and right being more casual).

Seasonal

These clothes can be worn only for a specific season. Which means when piled together it takes up a lot of space for no particular reason. Now that you have separated the seasonal clothes you can easily separate them into the respective seasons they will be worn in.
You can collect these in separate boxes marked with the respective season or you can store it at the bottom most rack of your wardrobe and label them accordingly.

Sentimental

Well, you basically get the gist of what this means. The shirt your mother gave you, or the Pants your better half gifted you, The Suit your Dad got you. These things you may not want to get rid of as they mean too much for you to throw out. You may not want to get rid of it even if you will not wear it ever again. But it is highly recommended that you collect all these in a separate box and keep it aside or if you can store it in a compartment in your wardrobe which you will not access that often.

Potential

Time to be brutally honest to yourself. You may have added some precious articles to your wardrobe HOPING to premier them in a future to come. But have a look at them again and decide on which ones you MAY actually wear in the future and separate them accordingly. Find a separate compartment in your wardrobe for these and arrange them there accordingly. If you are confident you are not going to wear an article add it to the scrap pile.

Scrap

You should have a big enough pile of clothes on the scrap heap. Do not throw them away. There are so many uses for these. You can donate them to the needy if they are in good condition). You can sell them off at a garage sale or something similar. If you manage to get rid of these, arranging your wardrobe is a simple walk in the park.

To hang or not to hang?

Always make it a point to hang woven ( Suits, Trouser and coats) articles. Do not hang shirts, jumpers. If you don’t buy something on a hanger, they don’t need one to be stored in your wardrobe as well. Invest in some good hangers, preferably wood. These will be a very good investment for sure.

Ties

There are so many ways to hang ties. Hanging 20 or so ties on a single hanger is one of the most commonly used methods of hanging ties. But the most effective and efficient way to store your ties are by rolling them and putting them in drawers. You can get drawer or shelf dividers in order to separate rolled ties and it will also add a touch of class to your custom wardrobe.

“Work-wear”

Although majority of you are working at an office nowadays, there comes a time when a man needs to dress down and use some elbow grease to get some garden work done or to mess around with the car. It is advisable to have some old clothes which you can wear for whenever you are going to get your hands dirty.

Shoes

If you have a separate compartment for shoes in your wardrobe, arrange them according to colour and separate them according to the types of shoes. It will be very convenient if you do have a compartment for shoes because you can easily fix an outfit merely by opening and taking a look at your now arranged wardrobe.
