I’d quibble with the details, but I think you’re on the right track here. As a one-time pro photographer who once owned a large 4x5 view camera and a bunch of medium format film gear, and who still has a couple of nice (but not very smart) Nikon DSLRs and associated gubbins, I have to admit that my iPhone is nowadays by far my most-used and fave camera. And not just for the convenience….

Yes, the Nikons still have a place in my photography, but only for specialist use — and I’m sure I’ll have something like them with me on photo trips for the next few years. After that? If it’s not IOS or Android-centric, I’ll be very surprised.
