Angel

somewhere
in this town
in this city
is an angel
a bad girl
to dine with
to sip wine with
to slip boots off
and then socks
her jeans too
and watch her slide
her shirt down her arms
glass of wine in hand
lips on mine
firelight on skin
flickering, while snow outside
settles on the windowsills

in this city
an angel just walked by me
a smile on her lips
eyes shining
hair flowing behind her
cheeks rosy
scarf too
woollen hat
black jacket strapped
brown boots long
our glances searching
she looked back
and then kept walking

I took a picture
and looked at my phone
hers in her pocket
bluetooth found her dial tone
our numbers exchanged

in this town
an angel walked by me
a bad girl
as the snow whirled
who’ll unzip her boots on Christmas Eve
