There Once was a Sweet Town of Bethlehem

We can all become citizens of Bethlehem. Some might argue that they are, in a spiritual sense. If so, perhaps now is the time to officialise it, and put aside the saccharine dreams for a few moments. I think a fellow Christian to some might explain the situation a bit better than me:
“My city — Bethlehem — is in a state of emergency and may soon be lost to the world. This, I hope you will agree, will have a devastating effect on the cause of open democracy in the Middle East. It would have far wider reaching implications not only for Christianity world-wide but also to the relationship between the Christian countries and all other nations.
“My city is dying because it is imprisoned. A combination of walls and fences completely surround the urban core of the Bethlehem region, leaving only two gates to the outside world. It is not, as the Israelis would claim, a security barrier. In the first instance, it does not separate a Palestinian population from an Israeli population. Rather, it cuts through villages within the Bethlehem area, separating Palestinians from Palestinians. It even cuts through a cemetery, separating our dead from each other.
“In a strict and literal sense, it is a ghetto wall, and Bethlehem is a prison town. We have reached a final, tragic level of absurdity that a nation created to free the Jews from captivity has built a prison for Christians and Muslims.”
Thus has declared Dr. Victor Batarseh, Mayor of Bethlehem, stating that Bethlehem is an open city and announcing that his city issues a “Bethlehem passport,” open to anyone in the world.
Learn the truth about what is happening to Bethlehem, and stop letting yourselves be guided by a media that is not free, fair and open. Open your eyes to what the Israeli authorities are doing to Bethlehem and stop willingly and almost knowingly letting yourselves be deceived.
That is my message of peace and goodwill to the world, and somehow I have a feeling JC would agree. Don’t you? If not, research more, and don’t be afraid to disagree with the mainstream media.
A little knowedge is a dangerous thing.
Learn more. Research more. Don’t rely on my propaganda. Don’t rely on your assumptions. Be an angel.
