So true! This reminds me a lot of the “Up in the Air” movie with George Clooney. He’s a redundancy expert, always on the road, shuttling from airport to airport and job to job living it up on the travel points perks. New MBA comes in and pushes for “Glocalization” — all of the redundancies can get done remotely over a Skype-styled session. They force the MBA out on the road to see what happens In Real Life and it dawns on her that it’s not just about doing things simpler — there’s a human element in the job and in the lifestyle. As a vaguley disruptive business you can’t underestimate vested interests (however crazy/illogical they can seem). Sometimes making something more efficient takes the magic out of the small moments in life.
