Is there a future for Ethereum

Reading a paper by world economic forum I realized one thing that for some reason wasn’t obvious before while it should have been. Buterin doesn’t own ethereum, not only this, his power over it is insignifcant. If he attempts to switch to PoS he will be forked very quicly by angry miners and then there will be three ethereums which may be the end of ethereum. Without PoS there won’t be Casper and without Casper there won’t be any sharding (may be the best geeks of the world have come to the solution to the impossible) and without sharding there is no future for ethereum. So I wonder is there a future to ethereum ?
And so everybody will fall into welcoming deadly embrace by Larimer’s EOS. :) EOS will be hyped and welcomed until the wolrd will discover all the issues of EOS when they surface and surface they will.
Its comforting to know that Vlad Zamfir also sold all his ethereum at prices below $16 like me for pretty much the same reasons like me.
