2017 was quite a year of new inventions. And some predictions which can be real in coming years. Every coming year is the year of new inventions and ground breaking technologies from Smart phones to Artificial Intelligence to Medical sciences. In almost every field of life there’s new futuristic things which we cannot even imagine in past are now coming real.

Now we’re in 2018 a year of new inventions.

Some inventions happened in the last year some will now in 2018 with more futuristic approach.

Smart phones

Apple Iphone X Launched in 2017

Smart phones has been evolved very much from simple Qwerty pad phones to 3D touch displays and now its time of Full futuristic displays. Many smart phone companies like Apple, Samsung, Huawei and others doing a lot in bring the latest and much futuristic technologies right in your hands. AI enabled Socs and in built with Virtual and augmented reality features. Which lets you do the things you never imagined of but now possible and lot more.

Self Driving Cars

Self-driving cars exist today that are safer than human-driven cars in most driving conditions. Over the next 3–5 years they‘ll get even safer, and will begin to go mainstream.

Drones and Flying cars

“Roads? Where we’re going we don’t need… roads.” — Dr. Emmet Brown

GPS (Global positioning system) technology was built for only military purpose but now it’s widely used for locating, taxis both personal and for commercial purpose. And Drone technology was also developed for only military and combat purposes but it is also increasingly being used for consumer and commercial applications.

Amazon and Google are working on Drone logistics to deliver household things to the people through drones.

Flying cars was the imagination of past but now its real. Flying cars use the same advanced technology used in drones but are large enough to carry people. Due to advances in materials, batteries, and software, flying cars will be significantly more affordable and convenient than today’s planes and helicopters.

New Startups (including two funded by the co-founder of Google, Larry Page) are also working on flying cars to bring it to the public and hopefully it will be on the skies by 2020.

Cryptocurrency and Blockchain technology

Blockchain technology is like the Internet in that it has a built-in robustness. By storing blocks of information that are identical across its network, the blockchain cannot:

  1. Be controlled by any single entity.
  2. Has no single point of failure.

“The blockchain is an incorruptible digital ledger of economic transactions that can be programmed to record not just financial transactions but virtually everything of value.”

“Virtual currencies, perhaps most notably Bitcoin, have captured the imagination of some, struck fear among others, and confused the heck out of the rest of us.” — Thomas Carper, US-Senator

Cryptocurrency and blockchain technologies are providing a new business model for Internet protocols. This year alone, hundreds of millions of dollars were raised for a broad range of innovative blockchain-based protocols.

Protocols based on blockchains also have capabilities that previous protocols didn't. For example, Ethereum is a new blockchain-based protocol that can be used to create smart contracts and trusted databases that are immune to corruption and censorship.

Personalized Medicine

A growing contingent of researchers, some healthcare clinicians, and an increasing number of patients are calling for a more personalized approach aimed as much at preventing disease as it is at tailoring treatment once it’s there. Call it what you will — personalized medicine, genomic medicine, precision medicine. It’s an approach that emphasizes the ways in which your disease risks are unique and different, just like your other, more obvious characteristics. Those disease risks are based on the predispositions written into your genome at birth, combined with your lifestyle and environment. In the case of cancer, the disease has its own genetic makeup, lending each tumor a unique character with unique tendencies and vulnerabilities.

And perhaps there is, or soon will be, a drug or treatment or tailored combination of the two that will work better for you than it would for someone else.

Age of Artificial Intelligence

From SIRI to self-driving cars, artificial intelligence (AI) is progressing rapidly. While science fiction often portrays AI as robots with human-like characteristics, AI can encompass anything from Google’s search algorithms to IBM’s Watson to autonomous weapons. AI is empowering itself in almost every field i.e. Business, Film industry (Sci-fiction) , Autonomous cars, Personal robots, Medicine and health care.

One of the development in 2017 in the field of Artificial Intelligence was the “Sophia” a Intelligent robot” by Hanson Robotics who also got Saudi citizenship. And she is the real time talking robot participating in the TV shows, UN meetings and expressing her (machine) views about humanitarian life.

Future is here

So in conclusion we in living in the age of innovations and technology. And every coming day is the new beginning of possibilities. Above are the some of the major technologies which i discussed but there are much more to change you life in a whole new futuristic way in a way you never imagined.
