If I am ever to read something, I always want to know context. Otherwise, I’m asking to be lead into many assumptions and possibly wrong conclusions. So in order to avoid that here— this is my context.

Hi! My name is not Hana Poirot. It would be very silly of me to write a blog of this nature with my actual name. The reasons are pretty obvious, I think. I am a medical student, and I do indeed live in a third world country. The stories I will share are true, but any names will be fake. I’m not here to gossip about anyone and I’m not here to get anyone in trouble.

I recently began working at a public national hospital and my experience there has been, unique in a way, terrifying in others, and beautifully spectacular, all at once. The work itself is demanding on many levels and in different ways, so its definitely something I have to talk about and vent about to keep my sanity. Add to the equation that I love writing, and voila! A new blog is born.

So what’s the purpose of this blog? On my end? To use this as my creative outlet for all that’s going on in my little head. For my readers? I hope that you will be able to learn a little bit about what the health situation is like in most places around the world, even today in the year 2015. Its a great opportunity to get some perspective on life. At least it has been for me.
