Why saying “I don’t see race/gender/etc.” is offensive

I have many good relationships with a wonderfully diverse community. However it’s not necessary to know/acknowledge/admire/nor agree with every single character trait of every person. In fact to do so would feel artificial to me. One thing that I admire about many of my contacts is that they don’t let “society discrimination” nor stereotyping, hold them back. In fact many have an incredible, admirable and inspirational determination to succeed. It’s more important (and a damned sight easier) to have an unconditional positive regard for everyone and see how things develop from there. I have met many amazing people this way
