2017 Reading List

The first book I read in 2015 was Balthasar’s Odyssey by Amin Maalouf. Even though it wasn’t a very large book (400 pages), it took me about a month to finish. I had been so out of shape with my reading habits, I felt I needed to get back at it. I ended up reading 11 books in 2015, and I slowly started to get it back. Last year, I set a small personal goal to read 15 books, and I’m very proud to say that I actually went beyond and read 20 great books!

Most of the books I read can be classified as “Classical Fiction”, because I wanted to establish a base for my reading, I felt that without reading the classics, I wouldn’t have anything to compare the modern novels with! It probably sounds strange, but it makes absolute sense to me.

So, this year, I want to up my reading game even more. I decided that my 2017 reading goal will be to read 30 books (listed below). They contain a lot of classical fiction, and because I promised myself I wouldn’t buy new books until I’ve finished the ones on my shelves, I already own most of them.
