A Brief Story Of Hazrat Ali (RA)
Hazrat Ali (RA) was a great soldier or commander in Islam. He belonged to the family of Bani Hashim and his tribe name was Quraish. He was born in the building of Holy Kaaba in the city of Makkah on Friday, 13th Rajab 23 BH according to Islamic Lunar Calendar.
He was the cousin and son-in-law of Hazrat Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him). His father name was Abu Talib and his mother name was Fatima who was the daughter of Asad Ibn Hashim Ibn Abd Manaf.
She was like a mother to the Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him). Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) suggested his name which was Ali. Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) adopted the Hazrat Ali (RA).
Hazrat Ali (RA) is a person who did not open the eyes until 3 days and when Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) came to him then Hazrat Ali (RA) opened his eyes and he looked first thing in this world that was the face of Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH).
Hazrat Ali (RA) was the first young person who accepted Islam when he was only at the age of ten years old. After the revelation of the first verse of the Holy Quran, Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) decided to preach the people, therefore, He (PBUH) selected his family to preach.
Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) arranged a meal and He (PBUH) invited all family members to join it. When Muhammad (PBUH) preached his family members by saying “Who will join me in the cause of Almighty Allah?”
At that moment, no one replied to him.
There was only one person who replied to him with these words:
Though my eyes are sore, my legs are thin and I am the youngest of all those present here yet I will stand by you, O Prophet of Allah.
So in this way, Hazrat Ali (RA) accepted the religion of Islam.
At the time of Migration:
There was a time came in the city of Makkah, when chiefs of different Tribes decided to kill the Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH). At this moment, Allah ordered him to migration from the city of Makkah to the city of Madina.
When the house of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) surrounded by killers and they were ready to kill any person who came out of the house. In this condition, Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) said to Hazrat Ali (RA) that you sleep on my bed and you come to Madina after the three days to hand over the entrusted possession to their owners.
There was a lot of danger but Hazrat Ali (RA) was a great companion of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Hazrat Ali (RA) slept on the bed of Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) after the migration of Hazrat Abu Bakr (RA) and Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH). Hazrat Ali did such a Holy Prophet said to him.
Pilgrims who perform their Umrah and Hajj then they travel Makkah to Madina along the road which was used at time of migration. They imagine how much long distance which was covered by the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and His companion Hazrat Abu Bakr Saddiq (RA).

Marriage with the Hazrat Fatima (RA):
In the second year of migration, the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) married his beloved daughter with Hazrat Ali (RA). He (RA) had five children from the Hazrat Fatima (RA) which name was Hazrat Hassan (RA), Hazrat Hussain (RA), Hazrat Zainab (Ra), Hazrat Umm Kalthum (RA) and Hazrat Mohsin (RA).
Title of Asadullah:
Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) gave the title of Asadullah which means The Lion of Allah on the event of the Battle of Khaibar. This battle was fought against the Jewish. Khaibar was the name of the fort.
In this battle, Muslims were trying to capture this fort. For this, Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) awarded Hazrat Ali (RA) with the title of Asadullah which was looked pale and sick at this moment.
Everyone amazed at this decision. Hazrat Ali (RA) challenged the great combatant from the Jewish whose name was Mahrab. During the fighting, Hazrat Ali (RA) killed him and Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) gave him the title of Asadullah.
Fourth Caliph:
After the third Caliph, Hazrat Ali was selected for the fourth Caliph. Hazrat Ali fought different battles against the rebellions. He had also changed the capital of Muslim to the Kufa which was in Iraq.
During the time of salah in the mosque, on 19th of Ramadan, Hazrat Ali (RA) was killed by Ibn-e-Muljim who used a poisoned sword. After the two days, He died on 21st Ramadan at the time of the morning, in 40 A.H.
He was buried at Najaf.
