The NDIS service providers are the backbone of this very scheme. They are the entities that help the NDIS participants to access necessary funding from the NDIS.

For becoming a provider, one may take the steps and make consider as shown below:

· Consider your Suitability:

For this, you need to contact the National Disability Insurance Scheme Commission. This can be done easily by visiting the website o calling them on 1800–035–544. You need to confirm the services you will be providing and also check the pricing guide. Conduct screening through the new national screening process too.

You must also check your in-house complaints and incident management system beforehand to ensure there is no issue. The slightest error here can cause greater repercussions. Lastly, get your ABN ready. These steps will help you know your eligibility.

· Fill in the application form:

Filling in the application form is the next step that you can access online. In this you will need to:

· Enter your contact information

· Information about how your business works

· The registration group you are in

· And lastly, complete a self-assessment against the NDIS Practice Standards

Afterward, the NDIS Commission will email you to let you know if you need a verification or certification audit. Verification audit is for providers providing lower risk or fewer complex services like home maintenance.

While the certification audit is for the ones providing higher-risk services like early intervention etc. The cost of verification auditing will be greater than the certification audit. Upon receiving this email, search for an approved quality auditor

· Wait, Wait and Wait:

You will need to wait for the NDIS Commission to assess your application and review audit outcomes. This may take a while. If your request gets approved, you will receive a certificate of registration.

This will outline the services, support, and products your business will provide. On the other hand, in case your application gets rejected you will be informed of it too. You can also request a review in case of rejection.

· Advertisement:

Advertising your business is necessary to let people know you are in the market now. You will need to get the word out in the market and start promoting your business using appropriate means.
