Steelers quarterback could miss 6 weeks following knee surgery

Ben Roethlisberger, star quarterback for the Pittsburg Steelers, could be recovering from his torn meniscus for longer than expected. He sustained the injury on Sunday, during the Steelers game against the Miami Dolphins. Landry Jones will be the starting quarterback until Roethlisberger recovers enough to play.

Julio Urias opened for the Dodgers in NL Division Series

Urias, 20, from Mexico, helped the team beat Washington and advance in the Championship series. Urias is the youngest pitcher the Dodgers have played in a post-season game. “I thank God for the accomplishment, but I have to put that aside,” stated Urias. “I really want to play a good game for my team, and that’s really what it’s about.”

Lynchburg Boys and Girls Club to host tennis tournament

The Boys & Girls Club of Greater Lynchburg will host its 9th annual tennis tournament Oct. 23 at the Boonsborough Country Club. Proceeds will go to The Boys & Girls Club’s initiative to promote a healthy lifestyle. The registration fee is $65 and includes a T-shirt, light snacks and a goodie bag.
