For Deannee Santiago and Janet Frederick, a mother-daughter duo, holistic methods for curing the body are a passion and the inspiration behind Lulu’s Holistics skincare. Deannee first started Lulu’s Holistics after her mom began making the products. Growing up she learned from her mother Janet, a vegan and full believer in the power of holistic healing. She would watch her mom make the products and Deanne turned her mother’s talent into a business.

While Lulu’s Holistics began as a side project for Deannee, it rapidly gained attention and grew as a business, requiring her full attention. She recognized that often the skin is the first thing noticed about a person, so long-term solutions were needed to help people improve the appearance of their skin, rather than focus on solutions that were often short-term. In addition, the company crafts each product by hand, out of safe and organic ingredients.

As a family run business, both Deannee and Janet are incredibly dedicated to Lulu’s Holistics. On average, Deannee works 16–18 hours a day, her passion for it driving her motivation. Equally invested, Janet has also taken online courses to expand her knowledge in the business. Together, the two women have worked together to steer the business to success.

Since the business’s official launch in 2017, two stores have opened, with plans to soon open a third. Currently, the two stores are located in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, and Bronx, NY. Marketing campaigns have also seen the implementation of billboards in both Jamaica and New York. Impressively, since their launch, the business had made over 2 million dollars.

Besides skin care, Deannee is also passionate about raising autism awareness. She has two younger sisters, both who are autistic, and wants to increase awareness in the Caribbean. She is currently sponsoring a school that works with autistic children.

With the passion and dedication Deannee and Janet pour into Lulu’s Holistics, is not a surprise the business had reached success. Their tireless efforts to provide quality products made from quality ingredients has paid off, and it’s only a matter of time before they expand the business even further.
