Gone Home Walkthrough
Gone Home is a exploration story game that can be completed to the preference of the player. In this walkthrough, I’m going to highlight the necessary steps to complete the game! :)
Part 1: The Front of the House; Welcome Home
You start at the front of your house.
Open the same cabinet to the left of the porch and find the key hidden underneath the duck.
Use the key to open the front door and go inside.
Part 2: The Foyer; Time to Look Around
Once inside the Foyer, walk up the stair to the second floor.
Keep walking until you reach the Attic, it’s locked so let’s start our search for the key!
To the right of the attic is the Sitting Room, with a smaller room, the Sewing Room, connected to it.
Go into the sewing room and to the left is a small table with a Folder on it.
Look inside the Folder and a secret passage will be added to your map.
Next, head into Mom & Dad’s Bedroom, and find their closet to the back left.
The back wall, to the left of the storage boxes pictured above, opens up and leads to a small room and contains another Paper.
Read it and three more hidden compartments will be added to your map!
Two of these compartments will hold a locker combination you will need for Sam’s room, so let’s find those now.
Head back to the Foyer and to the West Hall (towards Dad’s Office).
After the first doorway there is a panel to the right that can be removed to access a hidden compartment.
Inside you will find a Scrap. It has the first part to the locker code.
Go back upstairs towards the Attic, but take the first hallway to the right.
On the left side of this hallway is the hidden compartment with another Scrap with the other half of the locker combination.
Part 3: Sam’s Room
After collecting the combination, head into Sam’s Room.
Use the combination to open the locker and take the key for the Basement.
Go back downstairs and follow the west hallway past Dad’s Office to get to the Basement.
Part 4: The Greenhouse
In the Basement, go through the Junk Room and back up that staircase to the first floor.
Follow the hallway until you reach the end with the Laundry to the left.
Go through the Laundry and into the Greenhouse.
There is a table on the far side of the Greenhouse with a note on it.
Read the note and you will find another secret passage in the Foyer.
Part 5: The Attic, The End
Head to the Foyer one last time and find the secret passage to the left of the stairs.
Follow the passage and find the key to the Attic.
Head back upstairs and use the key to finally go into the Attic.
There is a table with letters addressed to you.
Read the letters to finish the game.
This game has many collectables and stories intertwined that you can discover by exploring the house. This guide shows only what is necessary to complete the game, but I encourage you to play and explore!
