I like your use of an innocent analogy to contrast the heavy, somewhat scary, topic. It brings to light a side of the issue that we don’t talk about very much, which is being open to having your mind changed. While I agree that we all need to be conscience of the frames that a lot of news outlets (knowingly or unknowingly) build around stories, I think it’s also interesting to think about the flip side: what if we embraced opposing ideas put forward by the media. Obviously, no amount of screen time will make me like Donald Trump. However, it could benefit me as a voter to read and consider his party’s policies. I’m still probably not going to.
