Recently I got a chance to play with one of the best monitor from BenQ, a Taiwanese multi national company which pioneers in display solutions. The monitor though was launched in 2011 but still beats anyone in the same league.

The BenQ XL2420TX is a gaming monitor which has NVIDIA 3D vision support. Usually linux detects and works directly out of the box with external displays tested in the past but this time there was this issue which took a part of my head fixing it.

I am using Ubuntu 13.10 running GNOME shell on my Lenovo G500s notebook which…

Guess who’s back?

After a month of exhausting exams ending yet another semester, I finally found peace on 30 April 2013 and since then I have become super ultra gigantic lazy (you could guess this from the time this post has been published, hehe) Like every other semester I had loads of plans running in my mind for the holidays and I failed again. So decided to install fedora xfce separately. Fedora because I love the quick updates. So i downloaded the .iso (yea I am good at this :p) but then the next morning I changed my plan to install it separately instead install the xfce environment…

I have literally haven’t done anything useful in the past three…

The ALiAS team started planning for this about a month ago because we wanted it to be perfect. The event went as per the schedule though there were some glitches in the end but overall a pretty good start.

The event started off with Kantesh Raj who told what is python and some basic concepts about it. Then Sheel Sindhu…
