While this has not happened to me on this level, it has in online gaming. I was playing this game with a male friend of mine called Hearts of Iron 4. Which is a very detailed, highly complicated grand strategy game. You pick a nation and lead it from 1936 to when ever you feel like stopping.

He felt the need to explain strategy to me. I told him not to worry that I know strategy quite intricately being a Historian, but he still tried to explain. By 1944 as America, I had finished off Japan, and all of Russia, as well as Half of Germany. Meanwhile as England he was struggling to maintain territory and only barely had a foot hold on France.

I do not fault him though as his intentions were pure, but it is funny looking back at it.
