On the president’s tariffs

After the president announced that he’ll start an unwinnable trade war by placing harmful tariffs on aluminum and steel, Dem-NPL congressional candidate Ben Hanson released the following statement:

“While the Republicans in this race trip over each other competing to see who can most blindly follow the president, tariffs on aluminum and steel have folks like Kevin Cramer and Paul Ryan joining Democrats, independents, and Republicans in speaking out against a harmful trade war.

“These tariffs harm consumers, machinery and ag producers, brewers, and countless other industries. North Dakota deserves representatives who have the ability to think on their own and put the interests of our state first.”
