Almost have same age as Heroes of the Storm,Raynor always carried his sweetest bullet for enemy in every season.
And now,As the patches change, our raiders captain start more often go back to bar to get drunk.Until the reworked finally take notice on him.
Raynor’s Reworked Goal is a task to maintain his character as the same dutiful auto-attacker,But he can feel more power now.
But Like Gul’dan say:”To seek the power, you have to pay the price. ”
So he made a deal with the devil, abandon what you once owned talent.
And become a massive-dealer who can hold 4 rounds of bullets in every clip.
This article will only list new talents/stats and analyze them objectively speaking.
stats:
- Health increased from 1,302 to 1,450.
- Health Regeneration increased from 2.71 to 3.02.
- Basic Attack damage reduced from 122 to 92.
- Basic Attack range is now set to 6.5 and is no longer based on Raynor’s Trait.
- Scaling increased from 4% to 5% per level.
Discussion
The Big thing is Health(and regeneration) and Scaling,Raynor is always a competent starting hero. It’s simply balance For a range dealer without charge and flash.
Talents:
Level 1
- Veteran Marksman (Trait):
Quest: Every time the primary target of Give ’Em Some Pepper is a Hero, permanently increase its damage bonus by 0.75%. - Ace in the Hole (Passive):
Deal 30% more damage to Stunned or Slowed enemy Heroes. - Exterminator (Passive):
Basic Attacks deal 50% more damage to Minions, Mercenaries, and Monsters. This is increased to 100% while Inspire is active.
Discussion
The first two talent are good except Exterminator.
Veteran Marksman is a standard talent if your team doesn’t have reliable several control skills which made Ace in the Hole weaker. Also,As the matches usually longer which like Volskaya Foundry or Infernal Shrines,Raynor will have more time to build Veteran Marksman stacks.
Ace in the Hole is a very powerful talent especially if your team composition features an abundance of Slows and Stuns. The point is, this talent increases all of Raynor’s damage, not just his Basic Attacks.
Level 4
- Fight or Flight (E):
Reduce Adrenaline Rush’s cooldown by 10 seconds. Casting Adrenaline Rush grants 25 Armor for 4 seconds. - Sustaining Rounds (Trait):
Give ’Em Some Pepper heals Raynor for 3% of his maximum Health, increased to 6% if the primary target is a Hero. - Behemoth Armor (Passive):
Gain 250 bonus maximum Health.
Quest: Every time Give ’Em Some Pepper’s primary target is a Hero, gain an additional 5 maximum Health.
Discussion
Fight or Flight give Raynor more flexible to control skill operability and less healing pressure in support side.
Behemoth Armor is another choice to defend the melee dealer,it gives you 400–500 health at least in most game, which boosts the healing value of Adrenaline Rush, since it scales with Raynor’s maximum health.
Sustaining Rounds is weaker than first two choice, and make him more afraid of pressuring (and thus cannot use Basic Attacks) or blinding by enemy.
Level 7
- Fuel the Rush (Passive):
While Inspire is active, increase Adrenaline Rush’s cooldown reduction from Basic Attacks by 200%. - Unstable Compound (Trait):
Increase the area of Give ’Em Some Pepper by 15%, and enemies hit by it are Slowed by 10% for 3 seconds. - Heavy Slugs (Active):
Activate to increase the distance of the next Penetrating Round by 30% and increase its Slow duration to 6 seconds. 30 second cooldown.
Discussion
Unstable Compound is one of the most gifted talents in Raynor’s tree.It gives you self-control ability to trigger Ace in the Hole, but also provides a area of Give ’Em Some Pepper.
Fuel the Rush is just like another chicken ribs,Inspire time only have 4 seconds,Basic Attack can hit and 8 times without pressured.which means you can reduce cooldown 16 seconds in maximization.Compare with Unstable Compound and Heavy Slugs,Unstable Compound put others in the shade.
Level 13
- Debilitating Rounds (Passive):
Decrease the cooldown of Penetrating Round by 3 seconds. While Inspire is active, Penetrating Round’s Slow is increased by 20%. - Rallying Cry (W):
Increase the duration of Inspire by 1 second. Casting Inspire grants nearby allied Heroes 10% Movement and Attack Speed for its duration. - Giddy-Up (W):
Gain 10% Movement Speed while mounted and unmounted. Inspire grants 10% more Movement Speed.
Discussion
Level 13 in Raynor’s talents tree is build for Kit and survival ability, each talent is selectable and flexible. In My Opinion,I like to choose Rallying Cry or Giddy-Up.Slow enemy is good, but increase movement speed is more safety if you engage uncontrollable enemy.
Level 16
- Give Me More (E):
Increase Adrenaline Rush healing by 50%. While Inspire is active, gain 1 Basic Attack range. - Paint Them Red (Q):
Increase the damage of Penetrating Round by 50% and heal for 100% of the damage it deals to Heroes. - Bounty Hunter (Trait) (D):
If Give ’Em Some Pepper’s target is a Hero, it deals an additional 3% of their maximum Health as damage and grants Raynor 5 Armor for 3 seconds.
Activate:Give ’Em Some Pepper to apply it to Raynor’s next Basic Attack. 40 second cooldown.
Discussion
Bounty Hunter is another versatile talent in Raynor’tree, like multiple Giant Killer. It gives you Armor and damage to maintain battleground even in pressure. With Morales’s Stim Drone or any skill whose increase attack speed,Raynor can quicky build Armor and sustain DPS in same time.
In my view,This is why Raynor is overpowered reason after the patch.
Paint Them Red provide Raynor incredible Bloodline-sustained ability.Everyone knows Raynor prevent melee assassin only rely on his Penetrating Round,And Raynor’s weakness is lack to deal explosive power.
This Talent remedy two defect in same time.it’s a nice decision if you encounter genji who can give you pressure easily.
Give Me More is good, but it’s too late.Level 16 is about mid-later gaming time,Raynor need to comes forward when teammate in need. You must know Raynor’s Basic Attack is Decreased(122 to 92),Raynor urgently require more damage to control the teamfight. So in My Sight,It’s a little awkward chicken lib.
Level 20
- Indomitable Resolve (R):
Give ’Em Some Pepper lowers the cooldown of Hyperion by 5 seconds if the primary target is a Hero. Inspire grants Raynor Unstoppable for 2 seconds. - Dusk Wing (R):
Increase the damage, Health, and leash range of Raynor’s Raider by 100%. When it dies, both Inspire and Adrenaline Rush are activated for free. - Weak Spot Acquired (Trait):
An enemy Hero who is the primary target of Give ’Em Some Pepper has their Armor reduced by 25 for 2 seconds. - Execute (Passive):
Increase Attack Speed by 20%. Your Basic Attack damage is increased by 25% against targets below 50% Health.
Discussion
Indomitable Resolve and Dusk Wing must talk together.Honestly, I like Hyperion. But Raynor’s Raider is too strong for now.Dust Wing is overpowered of course if you only lay stress on words.Once you need to know is Raynor’s Raider will destroy if Raynor die.Just like Rexxar level 20,it’s awkward in a dilemma to choose Execute or Dusk Wing.Dust Wing require more operability than Execute.
Sum up in a word,if you believe your operability, choose Indomitable Resolve and Dusk Wing,or Execute is your new best friend!
Weak Spot Acquired is too late in multi-level viewing. If this talent move to Level 16,I would like to use.Otherwise, under Execute’s overpower,I will not to use this talent till the patch changed.
Even though Raynor still Overtune for now,HoTs is not a one-man-carry game.As Raynor rework,Cassia and Johanna’s win rate rise in unknown sight.Just like Heroes of the storm ‘s Tradition, every single hero are all powerful. And that’s why people ‘s Love&Hate things.
