Toronto Islands — a great trip for locals and tourists

At least once every year, I make the short ferry ride to this relaxing place.

The Toronto Islands are 15 small islands in Lake Ontario next to Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Bicycles are allowed on the ferries at no charge and can be rented at Centre Island.

The islands are home to the Toronto Island Park, Centreville Amusement Park, a year-round residential neighbourhood and several public beaches. Public ferries operate year-round from Jack Layton Ferry Terminal, and privately operated water taxis operate from May to September.

There are 2 good food options, Island Cafe and The Riviera ~ Ward’s Island Kitchen. The boardwalk from Centre Island to Ward’s Island is beautiful and relaxing, right next to Lake Ontario.

Here is a video of Toronto’s Skyline from the Ward’s Island Ferry Terminal:

I hope you enjoy your next trip to the Toronto Islands!
