Workforce Recruitment Initiative: Just Getting Started

We are very excited to debut our first ever documentary, Hot Commodity, which since its inception was produced as a tool to help spread awareness of the industry. The documentary does an amazing job at showcasing the young professionals making their way and discovering success in a place that may be unexpected. It has been such a pleasure to get to know Muddy Trails, the videographers, and the subjects of the film as we learn their stories. However, we are just getting started.
The documentary is a great way for us to try and get information out there to the masses, but we realize that we need a solid call to action at the end of the film. Internally we have started calling the documentary Phase I in the initiative. With the big production near completion, we have set our sights on what comes next.
Phase II is where we are really looking for support from members in a big way. HARDI’s Marketing and HR Councils have begun working on what comes next. It seems to only make sense that Phase II will be broken down into a 2-pronged approach.
First- Get this out to the masses. We want to try and get this on every streaming platform that we can. Amazon streaming, iTunes, and hopefully Netflix. This will allow us to share a narrative that highlights a group of people that, for one reason or another, have found their way to HVAC wholesale distribution. From new college grads in search of an in-demand career, to individuals with roots in the industry, we are telling a story of opportunity and success. Our intent is to push this out to young people across the country through social media campaigns, PR efforts and piquing the interest of curious young people.
Second- We lean on our members and supporters. Grassroots efforts will help us get the materials about the industry to high schools, technical schools and other places where we can share the countless opportunities available now and in the future. We plan to work closely with our members on developing tools and resources that can supplement this documentary and provide the logical next steps to those we inspire with the film.
In order for this entire project to be a success we do need support. This project has gone above and beyond what we anticipated and for us to truly start making an impact we want to ask our members to partner with us on this exciting project.
