Redmi Note 10S vs realme 8!

Redmi and realme have been on a roll in 2021 with several launches. They have been quite successful in garnering a strong consumer base with their devices and recently they both launched new gaming smartphones in the mid-range category. Although I did cover them with individual blogs, this blog will take a look at a comparison between both the launches — Redmi Note 10s and realme 8.

Redmi Note 10S

Redmi Note 10S has a 6.43-inch touchscreen AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080x2400 pixels along with a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It is powered by the Mediatek Helio G95 processor supported by an Android 11 operating system. Redmi Note 10s comes with 6GB RAM and 64GB internal storage that can be expanded via a MicroSD card slot. It has a quad rear camera with the specs of 64MP primary lens + 8MP ultra-wide lens + 2MP macro lens + 2MP depth lens. Additional camera features include an LED flash, HDR and Panorama features. It also has a 13MP front camera. The integrated battery is 5000mAh and it supports proprietary 33W fast charging. Connectivity options on the Redmi Note 10S include Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth v5.00, NFC, Infrared, USB Type-C, 3G, and 4G. Sensors on the phone include a fingerprint sensor. It is available in Deep Sea Blue (Ocean Blue), Shadow Black (Onyx Gray), (Frost White) Pebble White colours and has a starting price point of 14,999rs for its base variant.

Realme 8
Realme 8 has three variants — 4GB RAM and 128GB internal storage at the price point of 14,999rs, 6GB RAM, and 128GB internal storage at the price point of 15,999rs and 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage at the price point of 16,999rs. Realme 8 is a mid-range gaming smartphone and consumers can definitely consider this if they are looking for an efficient and power-packed gaming choice.

In terms of features, realme 8 has a 6.4 — inch super AMOLED touchscreen display with a resolution of 1080x2400 pixels. It is powered by the Mediatek Helio G95 processor with an Android 11 operating system. It has a rear quad camera with the specs of 64MP + 8MP wide lens + a 2MP depth sensor and a 2MP macro sensor. Additional camera features include LED flash, HDR, and Panorama along with a 16MP selfie camera at the front. The Realme 8 has a strong battery at 5,000mAh with support for slower 30W Dart Charge fast charging. The supported charger is included in the box. The Realme 8 measures 160.6x73.9x7.99mm and weighs 177 grams. For connectivity, the Realme 8 comes with dual-band Wi-Fi, 4G, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a USB Type-C port. There is also an in-display optical fingerprint scanner.

We can see that there are quite a few similarities between both these two smartphones in terms of the AMOLED display as well as the integrated processor — Mediatek Helio G95. Both the phones also have a similar camera setup and a price point. I think the overall performance of both these two devices will be similar and interested mobile gamers can actually choose either — they will definitely not be disappointed. It is worth mentioning that apart from their sleek build the Mediatek gaming processor is definitely a major highlight in both smartphones.
