FUTURE OF AI
There is no doubt that AI is continuously revolutionizing and evolving, providing individuals with massive opportunities at all levels of life. From being a part of myths and rumours in the past to being a part of our everyday lives, AI has indeed gone a long way and is still believed to expand in upcoming years, coming with both positive and negative consequences.
WHAT IS AI?
Before discussing AI, it is crucial to understand the definition of AI. The term AI was first coined in 1956 by John McCarthy, an American computer scientist. The basic definition of AI is,
The branch of computer science that deals with reasoning and logic and is used to solve complex problems using algorithms that historically only a human could do.
FUTURE OF AI:
Artificial intelligence is rapidly expanding and is predicted to progress further in upcoming years. Open AI released its first Chat GPT model in 2018 which culminated in Open AI releasing its developed Chat GPT-4 model which processes user’s queries into relevant images, text etc. With its constantly emerging developments, people fear that AI is going to take over their careers. Is it true? Absolutely not. Even though AI has replaced a lot of jobs, there is no way that AI is going to replace human beings completely. The purpose of AI is to assist humans and not to replace them.
So what can we expect from AI in upcoming years? AI is predicted to reshape almost all sectors of AI. These are the areas where AI is anticipated to revolutionize the most:
AI IN HEALTHCARE:
Generative AI has the potential to enhance the healthcare industry by assisting staff in various tasks. It is envisioned that AI will have the capability to review MRI and X-ray-generated images. In the upcoming era, people will be able to seek medical assistance from artificial intelligence at the time of unforeseen circumstances.
AI IN TRANSPORTATION:
AI has already gone a long way in terms of transportation advancements. AI has already come up with autonomous and self-driving cars. The future prospects include driverless cars ( cars that will be able to drive without a driver) as well as dealing with dealing with traffic management, licence plate registration etc.
AI IN SPACE:
The pace at which AI is expanding, it has already advanced space technologies assisting humans to further dive into the discoveries of space. The future of AI in space exploration holds stupendous prospects such as tools that can evaluate data from telescopes, plan and frame missions for planetary rovers, analyze satellite datasets, diagnose, and detect anomalies etc.
AI IN MILITARY:
Generative AI involves crafting autonomous military weapons and systems to keep track of various issues and assist in military training. It will be used to assess enemy behaviour and help in decision-making during a crisis.
AI IN E-COMMERCE:
AI has already shrunk the global market by transforming commerce into e-commerce. We can expect AI to further develop the sector with automated warehouses and the use of chatbots.
CONCLUSION:
The whole point of artificial intelligence is to take up tedious jobs and leave individuals with jobs that they are more equipped to do such as tasks involving creativity or empathy. Instead of fearing the advent of AI, we should become a part of it.
