Welcome, HarmonApes, to the first of our Medium posts that deep-dives into our plans for the Jungle Metaverse. This article will provide details on the gameplay, the in-game economy plus more on our upcoming staking platforms and other rewards for NFT and $APE holders.

Gameplay
There are 5 categories of action in the Jungle Metaverse:
- Live
- Breed
- Quest (Monkey Mission)
- Play
- Govern.
Each activity will lead to players spending or earning $APE either from the Bank (P2B) or other players (P2P).
Living — involves developing and restoring land. In-game marketplaces will be available to trade and lend land.
Breeding — allows you to breed your Ape characters to birth new generations of Ape. Ape characters will be available for lending or trading to other players through an in-game marketplace.
Quest — Quests in HarmonApe are known as Monkey Missions. Sending your Ape on a Monkey Mission costs a small entry fee paid in $APE which, once completed, rewards players with experience, in-game items and/or $APE. Success in Monkey Missions will depend on HarmonApe statistics and the items they hold in each hand — more detail on this to come in our upcoming posts.
Play — Whilst not living, breeding or questing players will have the opportunity to play minigames, either with other players or solo. Rewards will only be in the form of $APE, with some of the games linked to events in the HarmonApe Discord.
Governance — Key to a functioning economy is good governance. All $APE holders, NFT holders and land owners will be able to stake their assets to take part in governance votes to help maintain a harmonious metaverse.
In (and out) game economy
For those new to the HarmonApe ecosystem, we’d recommend getting started with a previous Medium post detailing the constituent parts of it all. In a nutshell, as a HarmonApe NFT or $APE token holder you can choose to participate in the physical world and/or the Jungle Metaverse, transferring your assets between these worlds at any time.
Outside of the Jungle Metaverse, in meatspace, $APE acts as a deflationary token with a 3% burn on every buy or sell. Within the Jungle Metaverse, with a whitelisted contract, there are no transaction fees taking place whilst playing the game. The Jungle Metaverse is therefore an economically stable environment for $APE, where 1 $APE = $1 APE and all transactions will be made in $APE — rewards earned, trades made and monkey missions all measured in $APE.
At the same time, $APE can be freely withdrawn and traded on any major Harmony DEX such as Viperswap.This means that the supply of $APE will continue to slowly and steadily contract through the trading activities of those outside the game. This gives players and $APE holders alike the chance to hold an asset ($APE) that is simultaneously a stable in game currency and an asset that grows in value through scarce supply and increasingly greater demand
Furthermore, HarmonApe NFT holders can choose to stake their Ape on our soon to be released staking platform, earning passive rewards in the native $APE token to help build their balances for ingame activities.
Land
Following the completion of the HamonApe NFT mint, land will be available to purchase. Every parcel of land will be available as an NFT, with holders of the land enjoying full rights and able to buy, sell, and rent their plots to other players in-game.
There will initially be 6,976 plots of land in The Ape Forest, the first playable area of the Jungle Metaverse and a home for all HarmonApes to live on a happy and equal footing.
However just 5000 plots are playable area jungle with the remaining plots made up of sea, sand, lake and river — sources of resource but owned by the DAO and available for all players to explore.
Utility and Features of Land
- Every Ape will need a plot of land to set up home and start their life in the Jungle Metaverse. With only 5000 Ape and 5000 plots of land available it is likely to be in high demand
- Earn Passive income: rent your land to other Ape holders and earn passive rewards paid in $APE
- Own and govern your land — like your Ape NFT your land is stored on the Harmony Blockchain in the form of NFT. Take part in HarmonApe DAO governance votes by staking your land.
We intend to heavily reward $APE holders and HarmonApe NFT owners and keep the HarmonApe ecosystem affordable for all. As a result whitelists, bounties and airdrops will be held throughout HarmonApe H1 mint and beyond.
HarmonApe H1 NFT Benefits for Land sale:
- All wallets that mint a HarmonApe H1 NFT through our Dapp (regardless of whether they still hold this at the time of land sale) will receive a whitelist spot for the upcoming land sale. Land sales will be staggered and the earlier tranche you mint in will determine how early into the mint you have access.
- Mint and hold 5 HarmonApe NFTs and receive 1 plot of land for free. Every 5 Apes you mint and hold entitles you to a further free plot of land — the amount of land you can receive for free is uncapped.
- Flash bounties and giveaways — throughout HarmonApe H1 minting random numbers will be drawn and announced on all our social platforms. The wallet that mints this number will receive flash giveaways of land, $APE or HarmonApe NFTs
Staking
The HarmonApe staking platform is in development and we are targeting a mid-March launch. The platform will allow you to stake your HarmonApe NFTs and earn passive income in $APE, helping you get set up for the launch of the game and/or earning some passive income in the interim.
There is no limit to the number of HarmonApe NFTs you can stake on the platform and rewards are 100% unlocked. There are no fees or transaction taxes to stake or unstake, meaning you can withdraw both your NFT and rewards at any time.
The staking platform allows HarmonApe NFT holders to start building up reserves of $APE, ensuring they’re particularly well placed and ready to participate in the HarmonApe economy.
