doing nothing

nothing bad ever came from waiting. waiting is like stretching the body — it can be tense, it hurts a little — but it always makes the next action easier, when the right time does come. much ill has come from rushing, insistence on action like the hurried choice itself will be a balm. hurry almost always hurts one or both parties. action is not the balm; the balm emerges from inaction. hey, i can endure this. i am stretching my emotional muscles. i am getting stronger by doing nothing. what a trick! doing nothing is an act of love. silence is a commitment, too.
