Kathryn’s Story: Finding Herself

My story, where to start… I was always active in high school but after I graduated I got lazy, pregnant and ended up having no drive to better myself. I was a stay at home mom for 7 years, 2 years ago I decided after having my third child that I wanted to be happier, and that I wanted to better myself in the hopes that I would do something that would inspire my children. I started working out and eating better and was so happy that I was loosing weight and I let it get to my head. I lost myself for awhile and wasn’t sure that I would ever find the person that I used to be, but once I started doing 5k’s and OCR’s I started finding myself. I realized that my transformation wasn’t me. It just bettered the physical aspect of me and that if I lost who I was what was the point. Now I am proud to say that I am not only in the best physical shape of my life but I am also in the best mental shape of my life. My children now want to do mud runs with me. June 6th Monterey will be my first Spartan run and I cant wait to race. I started at 206lbs and have lost a total of 62lbs. I got back down to 144lbs I have been focusing now mostly on building muscle and having more muscular endurance. My husband has been my rock through this entire journey and without his support it wouldn’t have been possible.
