The world has slowly become more visual in recent years, swapping words for pictures, this new(ish) app called Steller embraces this change.

In today’s society people are forever using apps to tell their friends/families and even fans what they are doing with their lives. Constantly updating their status’ if they have changed job, changed relationship or updating their location when on holiday. With these updates we love posting pictures to match, how will people know it’s true unless they can see a picture? Over the Christmas period I had many engagement updates pop up on my Facebook feed and what’s an engagement without several pictures of the ring on every form of social media they own.

Instagram is an app which is solely dedicated to posting pictures and adding a cool, catchy and witty caption. You find yourself sat there updating your feed waiting to see who likes your picture, well I do anyway(i’m sure i’m not the only one). Personally, I find Instagram the most addictive form of social media I use, I can spend hours scrolling down my feed looking at everyones pictures. It’s so quick and easy, the captions are never long so it doesn’t take you hours to scroll down and read about what everyones up to. With the introduction of Instagram in 2010 you can start to see the change from storytelling with words to storytelling with pictures.

Steller is an app that I have only just recently heard of and didn’t have much knowledge about the app apart from it was picture sharing site. I was eager to give it a go.

I have created two stories on the app so far and the experience has been very pleasant. It’s so simple to use! Once you have chosen the collection of pictures you want to use for your story, it soon become very quick to put your story together. My first stories on the app got a lot of positive feedback, many people liked my story and even made it onto the editor choice home feed. The whole community on the app feels very positive and people seem genuinely interested in your stories. There are great opportunities for you to interact with other creators and comment on their stories.

Steller is the perfect mixture between words, photos and videos. It allows you to read someone’s story quickly as well as admiring their photos that they have specifically chosen to share. There is no limit to what you can post on the app and there are so many different varieties of stories that you can read and enjoy.

I haven’t been using the app for long but I can tell already that this is an app I will be continuing to use whenever I have a story to share.
