I’m not sure why I’m bothering posting this on ThinkProgress since it’s a left-wing organization bent on destroying the fossil fuel industry. But, I’ll say it anyway. Fracking hasn’t caused any of the things you purport.
The actual process of hydraulic fracturing has never once leaked methane, caused an earthquake or contaminated the water table. You know what has done those things? Improper operations and coincidence.
The methane leaks come from equipment that isn’t sealed properly. Not from fracking.
The -mostly minor- earthquakes come from wastewater injection wells, which have nothing to do with the process of fracking, that coincidentally happen to be drilled on a fault line.
The contaminated drinking water CAN happen when mud pits don’t have a plastic liner or when fluids are mishandled. However, those are all gross violations that companies try to avoid due to punitive fines imposed by state and federal agencies.
I would ask you to get your facts straight but given that your organization is dedicated to destroying an industry despite the fact that itgenerates billions in tax dollars and hires millions of people, I can’t expect much out of you.
