What Do You Want? You Have To Ask
Everyone has things they want.
Maybe it’s a new job, help cleaning up the house, or spending more quality time with a loved one.
Most people don’t even ask for what they want. When you don’t ask, the answer is always no. And you can quote me.

So, be bold. If you want something, ask for it. Not asking for what you want — particularly from a loved-on — is a sure ticket to resentment.
But ask the right way.
I just read this piece from psychotherapist Tina Tessina on how to ask for what you want. She says you need to be clear in your own mind about what you want before you can ask for it from someone else.
Being clear about what you want is like putting all the true facts on the table, just as you lay all the pieces of a jigsaw puzzle out, so you can see them better, and more easily solve your puzzle.
Tessina says you need to understand the difference between asking and demanding. As Grandma always said, “you get more flies with honey than with salt.”
What do you want? Isn’t it time to stop the resentment and ask for it?
